Product Overview

The OCEC-100 is an atmospheric organic carbon (OC) and elemental carbon (EC) online analyzer based on the thermal-optical method. It was developed jointly by FPI and Peking University with the objective of addressing the current pollution status of carbonaceous components in aerosols. The instrument combines years of experience in the development of environmental monitoring instruments with the latest demands from domestic and international users.

It is capable of precise separation and quantification of OC and EC in atmospheric particulate matter and may be used for online monitoring of OC/EC in air particulate matter in residential areas, industrial areas, roadside stations, and other locations.

The OCEC-100 measures OC/EC components in the sample by collecting atmospheric samples through filters. The samples are heated and analysed separately to identify OC/EC components, which are oxidised into CO2. OC and EC are differentiated by laser signals, and concentration values are obtained through NDIR signals.

  • It features a dual optical correction system with both Thermal-Optical Transmittance (TOT) and Thermal-Optical Reflectance (TOR) methods to meet various standard requirements.
  • The integrated structure of the analysis and oxidation furnaces replaces the separate structure, preventing condensation of high-temperature organic compounds before entering the oxidation furnace and reducing measurement errors.

  • The furnace filament heating adopts PID control combined with duty cycle control, enabling rapid and accurate heating, and extending the filament’s lifespan.

  • The instrument’s automation control is achieved through the combination of industrial computer, microcontroller, and control circuits. The control software interface is user-friendly and operation is simple.
